The renovated stable building – ‘Yr Atig’ on the left (sleep 2), Coach House in the middle (sleeps 4) & Rock Cottage on the end…

Rock Cottage as you see it today was renovated from a ruined outbuilding in 2012. Named for the Welsh stone it was made from and the rock it was dug into, it was once a rest-stop for weary travellers and their horses on their way through the village, but had fallen into bad disrepair. We replaced the roof, restored the old stone walls and rebuilt the beautiful red-brick arches that are the proud face of the building today. We also made sure to install high-quality insulation, a biomass boiler and a solar panel to create a warm and energy-efficient space.

It was a labour of love, and we were still fitting the last little additions as the first guests came up the driveway, but we are proud to have restored the building to its former glory (except there’s a few less guests on horseback these days)
