If you are after a wild, adrenaline-filled holiday, then Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire won’t disappoint. One day you could be cliff jumping or horse riding, and on the next try quad biking or go-karting.

Go mountain biking in Brechfa Forest, where there is choice of purpose-built trails for all abilities. Kayak some knarly whitewater in Llandysul, famous for its canoe-slalom courses on the Teifi river, or catch a wave on the famous breaks of the west coast. Feel the wind in your hair as you gallop down Marros beach on horseback. For anglers, the Cothi, Tywi and Teifi rivers offer great fishing, and are rich with sea trout.</P.

The epic coastal playground of Pembrokeshire offers a multitude of exciting watersports! Have a go at paddleboarding or sea-kayaking, or observe the coast from a different perspective with some coasteering.

Theme Parks and Family Fun

You will have no trouble keeping the kids entertained on a family holiday in this area. At Oakwood Leisure Park, near Narberth, there are rollercoasters like Speed or Megaphobia, fairgrounds, ghost trains and rides for young children. Heatherton offers something for all ages – paintballing, high ropes, clay shooting, go-karting and mini-golf can all be enjoyed in one setting, only 30 minutes from Bronhaul.

Rainy Days

Unfortunately, rain is always a possibility in South Wales. But fear not. On the odd occasion that outdoor play is stopped, there are plenty of indoor attractions to keep you busy.

Bluestone Resort, near Narberth, offers some great indoor activities. For the kids, its Blue Lagoon waterpark features slides, wave machines, and rapid river rides. Mum and Dad, meanwhile, can relax in the Well-Spa, or have a coffee in the café.

Carmarthen and St. Clears also have leisure centres for swimming, holiday clubs, squash and tennis. Both also have fitness suites.

The National Botanic Gardens of Wales in Carmarthen have fascinating plant exhibitions and themed gardens, with over 8000 plant varieties, as well as education programmes for children, and the world’s largest single-span glasshouse.
